A Family Legacy
1895
John Frederich Samelson, an immigrant from Hultatorp, Sweden, starts a building company in Davis, South Dakota.
1948
Ned Samelson starts a finished carpentry company in the growing construction industry of Detroit, MI after World War II.
1959
Donald Samelson forms Samelson Building Company with the motto, "Swedish Craftsmanship for Three Generations." This company focused on various building projects in the Detroit area.
1972
Randon Samelson begins a career in business that goes on to include public and private equity investments, real estate development, and investing in commodities.
2009
The next generation of Samelsons begin to contribute to the business activities of Contrarian Holdings.
